BELOW ARE THE STUDY GUIDES FOR THE UPCOMING MID-TERM EXAMINATIONS

MATHEMATICS

1. (a) Addition of 3 and 4 digit numbers - with and without regrouping (e.g. 234 + 125 (without regrouping) and 467 + 398 (regrouping). 
(b) Estimate using addition (e.g. 325 + 268 = 600 (rounding 325 to the nearest 100s = 300 and 268 to the nearest 100s = 300)

2. Subtraction of 3 and 4 digit numbers - with and without regrouping (e.g. 357 - 245 (without regrouping) and 524 - 389 (regrouping)

3. Multiplication of 1 and 2 digit numbers by 2 digit numbers (e.g. 25 6 x 4 and 5 x 12)
(b) Estimate and multiply (e.g. 34 x 49 = 1500 34 rounded to the nearest 10s = 30 and 49 rounded to the nearest 10s = 50. Therefore 30 x 50 = 1500.

4. Division 2 and 3 digit numbers by 1 digit numbers without remainders (e.g. 45 ÷

5 and 369 ÷ 3) 5. Division of 2 and 3 digit numbers by 1 digit numbers leaving remainders (e.g. 89 ÷ 2 and 457 ÷ 5) 6. Problem solving involving the four operations (+, -, x and ÷)
