THE SCHOOL THAT MAKES A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE

MONTHLY LETTER

Wednesday, February 1, 2012

Dear Parent / Guardian:
We have so far completed five months of school. We are encouraging you to keep on fighting the good fight of faith, and keep working with your child to the end.
Please be reminded of the following:

  1. Grades 1-8 started their Spelling Bee contest on January 27. Those who have scored 80 % or above will move to the second round on Feb. 3, which will be verbal. The finals will take place on February 8.

  2. Home and School meeting at North Bronx SDA Church next Tuesday, February 7 at 6:30 p.m.
  1. Winter Break session is scheduled for Feb. 20-24, 2012.
  1.  On Saturday, March 3, the Concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. We are asking all children to be there at Dewitt Clinton H. School by 6:45 p.m. sharp. Please support this fundraising project by selling these tickets. Tickets will cost $ 10.00 per adult. Children will pay $5.00 at the door. However by Feb. 27 all tickets will cost $15.00. The money will be used for many projects including purchasing a new bus to replace bus# 1. Our objective is to raise $20,000. Remember if you sell at least 10 tickets, 20% of the sale will go toward your child’s tuition. Please see attached to this letter 5 flyers to help in your promotion to sell the tickets(you may request more if needed). Once you return the money to the school’s Treasurer, you will receive your formal tickets for the concert. Food will be available by 8:00 p.m. in the cafeteria because eating is not allowed in the auditorium. Please be aware that school will be closed Monday, March 5, after the concert.
  1.  There is no scheduled Parent / Teacher Conferences at the end of the second marking period. The Homeroom Teacher will inform you in writing by February 8, whether or not they will need to see you. If you have a concern, you may call to make an appointment to speak with the teacher about your child’s performance. The report Cards will be sent home with your child on Feb. 8, if your account is up to date. Just in case you did not receive it, please call the school the next day to verify. (If you need the Federal ID for your Income Tax, the number is 113070794)
  1. Please take note of School closing at www.Oakviewprep.com by 6:00 a.m. in the mornings. It is possible that your child may have to wait ten or fifteen minutes extra due to unavoidable traffic delay, the drivers do not have any control over this.

Yours truly,

Jean Eric Imbert, Principal
