LOOK UP, AIM HIGH, AND STAY FOCUSED

Oakview Preparatory School has truly been blessed with the power of the Holy Spirit during our ‘Fall Week of Prayer.’  The speaker for the week of prayer was none other than Pastor Desta Zabalotney, also fondly known as Pastor Z. We were.

grateful that God sent him, because he really warmed our hearts with his presentations . The theme for the week of prayer was, ‘Look Up, Aim High, and Stay Focused.’ Pastor Z challenged each student to be like Christ.  He emphasized that through the application of these words, Jesus was able to increase in wisdom and statue and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52).  We were so

touched by this theme, that we not only adopted it for the week of prayer, but as a theme for our life.  For us, this was great encouragement and for this we are grateful. Pastor Z also explained to us what sin is and how to handle it.  He told us that instead of telling God how big our storm is, we should tell our storm how big God is.  This admonition was greatly appreciated as it reminded both the students and the faculty that our God can handle all of our problems.

Pastor Z was sent by God to help us to become better citizens and more importantly better Christians.  We believe that God spoke through him to us.  We were truly blessed and look forward to the next week of prayer.

Fall Feast—The Creation
On December 3rd the students of the Oakview Preparatory School took us back to the creation week. It was such a wonderful display put on by each class as they re-lived the creation week. The program began with the pre-k and kindergarten students depicting the creation of light on the first day of creation. The other grades followed likewise with presentations that reminded the audience of God’s handiwork throughout the remaining
six days. What would “Fall Fest” be without the orchestra and the mass choir? They did not disappoint us. The orchestra performed masterfully as they warmed the heart of the audience with heavenly music. The grand finale came however with a beautifully arranged presentation of the “Hallelujah Chorus.” Oakview says thanks to all parents and supporters, and look forward to your continued support in the years to come.
